Summary

God had Moses lead his people from Egypt and He provided for them during their whole trip. The Hebrews were like little children, constantly complaining and whining about the food, no water, too hot, always walking and on and on and on. God told Moses to strike the rock with is staff and water would appear. Moses did as God said and sure enough, water burst forth from the rock. Later the people were whining and complaining again about no water and God told Moses to command the water to come from the rock. Moses didn't do what God said, he struck the rock with his staff and sure enough water came out. God later told Moses because he was not oobedient and do what God commanded him to do, Moses would be barred from entering the Promised Land.
